22/11/20246 Fun Exercises You Can Do On A Swing!
Did you know there are several strengthening exercises you can do on a swing set!
It’s important to enjoy exercise so that you can stick with it. If a regular gym setting isn’t for you then why not be the big kid on the playground!
Here are 6 exercises to try next time you are at the playground!
1. Knee tucks - sit on the swing like you are getting ready to swing. Instead of pushing off with your legs, bend your knees and draw them into your chest. A few repetitions and you will start to feel your abdominal muscles working.

2. V sit - start in the same position as the first one. Holding onto the chains, lean back and put your legs straight out in front of you. Now lift your legs and your upper body at the same time, trying to get your knees as close to your nose as possible. Hold the position for 30 seconds and to make it harder you should use less support through your arms on the chain and let your abs do more work!

3. Scissor legs - sit on the swing and raise one straight leg at a time, alternate sides. Again you can make it harder by putting less reliance on our arms to support you and let your abs do the work.

4. Pull ups or chin ups - using the frame of the swing set this time. Hold onto the overhead bar and pull yourself up into the pull up/chin up position. You can decide whether you have your palms facing you or away, and also the distance between your hand grip.

5. Push ups - put your feet on the swing with your hands on the ground. Maintain a plank position with your torso and legs while bending at the elbow to do your push-ups.

6. Finally, simply swing and enjoy the freedom!
