“Any variation from the health has a cause, and the cause has a location. It is the business of the osteopath to locate and remove it (the cause), doing away with disease and getting health instead” – A. T. Still (founder of Osteopathy)

About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that can assist in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and complaints. Osteopaths focus on how all areas of the body function together as a wholistic unit and offer a patient-centred approach to healthcare.

Osteopaths base their care on the following four principles:

  • The body is a unit; the person is a unit of body, mind, and spirit.

  • The body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and health maintenance.

  • Structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) are reciprocally interrelated.

  • Rational treatment is based upon an understanding of above three principles.

Here at Cranbourne Osteopathy, we base our treatments on these four principles and work together with out patients to ensure they achieve their goals, whatever they may be!
