Read on to learn more about how TAC funded osteopathy appointments can help you recover and get back to feeling like yourself again!
What is a TAC appointment?
A TAC appointment is treatment funded through the Transport Accident Commission for people who have been injured in a transport accident. If you have an accepted TAC claim, treatment costs are generally covered by TAC in full — which often means no ongoing or out-of-pocket costs for your consultations with an osteopath.
At Cranbourne Osteopathy we regularly treat TAC patients and can help you navigate the process while delivering evidence-based care.
Appointment types & duration
Initial TAC appointment — 60 minutes
Your first appointment with us is a comprehensive 60-minute assessment. We take a detailed history of the accident, assess injuries, movement, posture and pain patterns, and create an individualised treatment and rehabilitation plan aligned with your TAC claim.
Return TAC appointments — 30 or 60 minutes
Ongoing treatment sessions are available in either 30-minute or 60-minute formats depending on your needs and goals. We’ll recommend the best appointment length for your recovery and functional requirements. All TAC appointments at Cranbourne Osteopathy may be provided by any member of our experienced team, ensuring you have access to care when you need it.
Appointment fees
In most cases, if you have a current and accepted TAC claim, treatment costs are fully funded by TAC for the first 90 days. That means many patients experience no ongoing or out-of-pocket costs for their Cranbourne Osteopathy TAC appointments. Coverage can vary depending on claim status and individual circumstances — but our team is experienced in supporting TAC patients and will help you with the necessary documentation and communication with TAC to ensure you received enough funded care to support your recovery.
If you are unsure of your current claim status, you can call us to confirm if your treatment would be covered or you can also contact the TAC or your case manager if you have one.
What conditions does an osteopath treat?
Our osteopaths treat complaints all over the body from headaches and neck pain, right down to plantar fascia pain in the feet, and so many things in between.
We commonly see the following injuries after motor vehicle accidents:
- Whiplash and neck injuries
- Headaches
- Back pain and lumbar strain/sprain
- Soft tissue injuries (muscle, ligament)
- Shoulder and upper limb injuries
- Complex pain and restricted movement following trauma
- Many other motor vehicle accident related injuries
Each treatment plan is tailored to the type and severity of your injury, your goals and your individual TAC claim.

What we do for our TAC clients
Our TAC appointments focus on returning you to pre-accident function and quality of life.
We offer:
- Hands-on osteopathy treatment — manual therapy, soft-tissue work, joint mobilisations and clinically-informed techniques to reduce pain and restore movement.
- Individualised rehabilitation plans — progressive exercises, graded activity and movement retraining to safely rebuild strength, range and confidence.
- Return-to-work planning — practical strategies, graduated duties and workplace recommendations to help you get back to your job as soon as possible.
- Equipment assessment & prescription — we can assess and recommend assistive equipment to support your recovery (e.g., ergonomic pillows or office chairs, sit-to-stand desks, rehab equipment), and assist you in approaching TAC for this funding.
- Claim paperwork — we can provide necessary paperwork and reports to support your claim and access to funded services.
- Coordination with TAC & other providers — we liaise with your TAC case manager, specialists, GPs and employers to ensure a coordinated recovery.
